Prudential plc reported that it cancelled 374,172 ordinary shares on Aug, 27 2026 following a share repurchase conducted on Aug, 25 2026 at an average price of GBP 10.3748 per share. The cancellation trimmed the company’s issued share capital (excluding treasury shares) to 2,496,332,785 shares.
On the same day, Prudential repurchased an additional 380,629 shares on the London Stock Exchange, paying between GBP 10.065 and GBP 10.365 per share for a total outlay of about GBP 3.89 million. These shares are earmarked for cancellation but had not yet been cancelled as of the reporting date.
Including this latest transaction, Prudential has repurchased 116,593,502 shares under the authority granted by shareholders on May, 14 2025, representing approximately 4.48% of its issued shares at that time. The company remains authorised to repurchase up to 262,668,701 shares in total under the current mandate. A 30-day moratorium on new share issues or treasury-share sales runs until Sep, 26 2026.
