Prudential plc announced that it repurchased 372,429 ordinary shares on Aug, 26 2026 on the London Stock Exchange.
The shares were bought back for cancellation at prices ranging from GBP 10.29 to GBP 10.48, for a total consideration of approximately GBP 3.86 million. The transaction represented about 0.015 per cent of the company’s issued share capital prior to the purchase.
After cancelling the shares, Prudential’s outstanding share count decreased to 2,496,706,957 ordinary shares. The group also reported that 374,172 shares repurchased on Aug, 25 2026 and an additional 372,429 shares bought back on Aug, 26 2026 were awaiting cancellation as of the disclosure date.
The buy-backs were executed under the authority granted by shareholders on May, 14 2025, which allows the company to repurchase up to 262,668,701 shares. As of Aug, 26 2026, Prudential had bought back 116,212,873 shares under this mandate, equivalent to 4.46 per cent of the issued share base at the time the authority was granted.
Under listing rules, Prudential is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares until Sep, 25 2026 following the latest repurchase.
