Hutchmed's (HCM) new drug application for fanregratinib, a liver cancer treatment, has been granted conditional approval by China's National Medical Products Administration, the company said on Friday.

Fanregratinib will be marketed in China under the brand name ATLED, said the Hong Kong-based Hutchmed.

The drug ATLED treats adult patients with certain types of advanced, metastatic, or non-operable liver cancer, who have not adequately responded to prior systemic therapy.

The NMPA approval of ATLED follows successful phase 2 and phase 2/3b clinical trials of the drug, said Hutchmed.

The phase 3b portion of the trial, which got underway in January 2026, is expected to serve as the confirmatory study to further validate the benefits and safety of ATLED, the company said.
